I was going out of town and was very nervous about boarding my 8 month
old English Bulldog for a few nights. She had been going to daycare" once
a week for several months here so I was less concerned about the facility, (
it's beautiful and super clean) or the staff (she loves them!) but she is my
baby and I was still worried! They sent a detailed item and itinerary that I
could pick from. frozen kongs.a nighttime private walk with a bedtime belly
rub …specialized daytime activities with other friends her age and size and a
pedicure! Her stay was more luxurious than my own! To sum it up.let's be
honest. We don't know what really goes on when we drop our pets off to be
boarded. but when she was picked up… smelling delicious and with polished
toes we were super happy. The following Wednesday (daycare day) she
literally jumped out of the car and dragged me to the back door barking to
get it in! She never does that! Guess she wants another Spa Weekend! I
highly recommend them and so does Molly! And they post pictures of their
day at Camp! 🥰

Willa had the BEST time during her stay here! This place came highly recommended from my coworkers and I can see why.

I'm slightly confused about the overwhelmingly positive reviews here. We boarded our dogs here recently for the first time and it was extremely expensive - $140 more expensive than we were quoted on their website. I was told this was because there is a half day boarding fee for them staying the day on Sunday, even though they are not open for pickup until 4 PM on Sundays. You can potentially arrange early pickup on Sundays if you want to pay an extra fee for that as well. Honestly, the whole business model here seems to be getting you to add on more and more fees until you have an outrageous bill. $380 to board two dogs in the same kennel for one weekend was expensive enough for me.

As for the boarding, we had no issues but the whole thing seemed very impersonal. I showed up with my dogs and someone grabbed their leashes and lead them away from me without saying anything. We got not pictures or report of how things went (I believe this is something you have to pay extra for, because of course).

I'll be looking elsewhere because I know there's more reasonable pricing structures in the area.

We strive to be as transparent as possible with our pricing. Our boarding rates are based on nights stayed, with additional charges applying when a stay extends into an additional day, including Sundays. Because we are not fully open on Sundays, staffing and care are handled differently, which is why a partial-day fee applies. That said, we understand how this can feel frustrating if it wasn’t clear upfront, and we’re sorry that this caused surprise or disappointment.

Regarding check-in, our team’s priority is safely transitioning dogs into the facility, especially during busy arrival times. We regret that this felt abrupt or impersonal, as that is not the experience we aim to provide. While daily photos and detailed report cards are offered as optional add-ons, all boarded dogs receive attentive care, exercise, and monitoring regardless of selected extras.

We understand that pricing and service style vary between facilities, and we respect your decision to seek an option that better fits your expectations. We appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve communication and the overall experience for future guests.

I've used Bed and Biscuit for two occasions of boarding my dog (4-5 days each). My dog came back happy and clean both times, and tired out from all the fun she had. I really, really appreciate how I get daily pictures of my dog on their Facebook - this is the key reason I chose B&B over other dogsitters available to me. I've recommended this place to others in the past and I'll continue to do so in the future.

My friend boarded his french bulldog service animal here and I dropped him off and picked him up for him. The employees are very kind and attentive. Very positive environment in general. Pricing was not too bad for the base package. You can bring your own food for them to feed your dog and some toys. Your dog must be spayed/neutered if you want them to be able to run around with the other dogs. If you are in Ithaca, the drive is only ~10-15 minutes so it isn’t too inconvenient. If I had a dog here I would trust this place for boarding.

Gonzo absolutely loves Bed and a Biscuit! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure he feels right at home. We recently used Bed and Biscuit while we were out of town for 16 days. Initially, we were very nervous about leaving our dog, Leo, there for such a long time. In the past, he’s only stayed for 3 to 9 days during our visits. Leo is a rescue dog with trust issues, so we are extra cautious. The team at Bed and Biscuit took such great care of Leo! They even went above and beyond by taking a holiday photo of him wearing a Santa hat and a festive beard; how they managed that, we’ll never know! When I picked him up, they gave us the photo along with a treat and toy for Leo. To our surprise, they also gave him a bath and trimmed his nails. This was a huge deal because no one besides us or the vet has ever been able to do that successfully. We are so impressed with the care and attention they provided and feel so fortunate to have Bed and Biscuit in our area. Highly recommend!

Bed and Biscuits is just awesome! They have been so accommodating and friendly every time I’m there. My Chocolate Lab June absolutely loves it there. When we pull up in in the morning she can’t get out of the car fast enough. When I pick her up in the evening she is worn out and if you know Labs that’s almost impossible. Especially an 8 month old Lab! I highly recommend Bed and Biscuits of Ithaca.

Staff are friendly and my first impression was good. However, there were some issues with my dog’s stay.
I purchased Busy Dog Package and was supposed to get daily photo updates, but no photos at all. I even called them during the stay, they promised me they will send me photos, but not at all. Upon picking up my dog, they offered to provide me some credits as a compensation, but I didn’t get any credits at all.
Back home I found a scar at the corner of my dog’s eye, but they didn’t mention it.
Hopefully you will take the feedback seriously and improve.

Our team is trained on supervision of group play, and doggy behavior, and we intervene if playtime gets too rough. Please reach out to us through our customer portal, and we will provide a partial credit for the missed Facebook photos in the busy dog package.

We have also changed our facebook post process, and provide updates daily. Your feedback helps us grow, and we hope to have the chance to do better in the future.

I wouldn't leave my dogs anywhere else. We've used B&B for years with many dogs, and every one of them has loved Bed and Biscuit. I have complete confidence that when we leave a pet there, the pet will be safe and happy!

I have a shorkie, which has more of a shi-tsu traits. My wife and i left her on boarding,
clean and with her medium length hair well groomed. She was supposed to stay for a week, but we were able to pick her up a day earlier. We she saw us, she was very happy to see us back, jumping and wanting to be over all over us. We took her back to the car and noticed pee smell, and followed at this, when she calmed herself down, we noticed her tail was a complete mat. She had huge mats under her ears and sticking to pee on her paws. Once at home, we gave her a full bath, but even then her paws still smell to pee. I spent 3 hours trying to undo all the mats she got at the place, but is a never ending work. I sincerely do not know how you treat dog there, leaves much to say when it comes to mine. On top of that, we left food for her that at home usually lasts about 2 weeks, and was surpeised to get a call saying her food was about to run out. In the begginig we thought was a good thing, she was eating well, but even more surprising was to hear that wasn't the case, they served her food with water (i wonder why... i a 1 and a half year dog, not an old one that has no teeth), and they throw it away. As final note, i want to thank you Bed and Biscuit staff, I spent months and many many hours taking care of her hair, and you managed to ruin months work in less than a week, something that even without taking care of her hair would result impossible at home. And please, answer this question: do you leave dogs to walk on their (or other dogs) pee? I surely do not find any explanation at how it could happen.

Our team follows strict protocols for cleanliness, grooming, and overall care, including bathing dogs when needed and providing regular brushing upon request. Many clients communicate their grooming preferences and bring their own brushes to support their pet’s routine during boarding, which we note in our digital calendar and follow as requested. Unfortunately, there was no communication from your end regarding this.
Kennel hygiene is a top priority. Accidents are cleaned immediately, and the inside areas of the kennels are thoroughly washed at least once daily, or more often if needed. Each dog also receives a fresh, clean blanket every day for their comfort.
Every dog has a designated outdoor run area that is cleaned six times per day to maintain a sanitary space. Because this space serves as their bathroom area, we ensure it remains individual to each dog to avoid any inconveniences.
Additionally, our team actively cleans all play yards throughout the day and sprays down the gravel area daily with dog-safe cleaning supplies to keep all areas disinfected and clean.
To address your concern, dogs do not walk in their own or others’ urine. If a dog has an accident in their kennel, they are bathed immediately, and their space is fully sanitized to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
Regarding adding water to food, this is only done in specific cases, such as when a pup refuses to eat. In some cases, and only with owner approval, we may mix the pup’s food with water or wet food to encourage eating. This is not a standard practice, and we always communicate any feeding changes to the owner for approval.
In addition to increasing staff and resources, we’ve implemented ongoing professional grooming training for our team to further enhance the quality of care we provide.

My Golden Retriever certainly enjoys himself at Bed & Biscuit when I board him there. It shows the way he can't wait to get in the front door of their facility when I drop him off there. He is a high energy, high drive Dog and they take good care of him. He was on antibiotics and needed a skin treatment daily the last time he stayed there and the staff did a great job with that as well. The hot spot area looked well on it's way to healing when I picked him up.

Bed and Biscuit was a great place for my dog! He did daycare, as well as occasional boarding, and the staff are wonderful! They do a great job of supervising dogs in daycare, communicating about and addressing any behavioral concerns that come up, and are patient with questions. My dog was always happy to get there and play with other dogs and I was happy knowing he would be well taken care of.

Five star facility and service. We boarded our two dogs for the weekend and had a marvelous experience. The dogs are both rescues so we worry about kenneling them, but the care and kindness they received was extraordinary—right down to the daily (twice in one day) email reports. We are so very grateful and highly recommend the kennel to anyone looking for a home away from home for their pets.

6/2024 Update: We continue to be so impressed by the wonderful services, care, and attention the staff at Bed and Biscuit give our pups. The new owners seem to the the needs of the dogs above all else — and the fact that so many of the former staff have stayed on board gives us great comfort. Both our pups have "special needs," and we have no concern they receive the home cooked diet we provide, as well as their medications and supplements. As with previous dogs, the two we have now come home happy and content.

We couldn't be more thrilled with Bed and Biscuit. All of our dogs have boarded there — they come home happy and content. Our current pooch is also a regular day care participant. To say he's excited to arrive each week is an understatement — he's ecstatic! Lazslo and Giselle run a great place.

We’ve been leaving our senior dog with Bed and Biscuit when we travel for the past three years. The staff is great, and our dog seems content every time we pick her up. With past boarding experiences elsewhere, our dog has come back stressed out and with an upset stomach, but she’s always happy and healthy when we pick her up from B&B. It is never easy to leave a pet with someone else let alone strangers. It is doubly anxiety provoking when you have to leave your pet in an emergency situation and in a new city. When faced with such a situation last week, all we could do is look on line and hope that the high reviews that The Bed and Biscuit had received were genuine. I can’t express how relieved I was to discover the gem that The Bed and Biscuit is. My pup came back happy, not stressed, and I could swear cleaner and brushed. The Bed and Breakfast is run by genuinely nice people who love dogs. They offer a wide range of options from day, to short stay, to long stay with bonus packages of entertainment for your pet. I wholeheartedly recommend giving them a try. I know we feel much more calm knowing that our dog will always be well received and happy to go there. It’s always necessary to have a boarding facility at the ready for your pet because you just never know when you’ll need one. Thank you for the great experience!

Edit: I know there are now new owners, but it appears to have been a seamless transition.(April, '24). No issues. They continue to keep posting the Facebook pics, and Allie sleeps for two days after I pick her up. Well done! (This is one of their photos - tell me she's not happy!)

I have been using Bed and Biscuit for a number of years for boarding. We recently had to be in NYC for a couple weeks and we boarded our Aussie Shepherd, Scarlett. They had constantly posted photos of Scarlett outside running around and having fun, so I knew they were keeping her busy and happy.

When we returned and went to pick her up, she looked great (even her nails were cut!), happy and relaxed. I so appreciated Bed and Biscuit taking great care of my girl!

And the best thing, is they are literally 5 minutes from my house!
